History

Avid pickleball players will recognize the band’s name as a term from the popular sport, while others just connect it to a great night out on the town. The band’s unique name is associated with the game and pays homage to many of its original and current members who met over the years - on a pickleball court. In fact the band’s ties to the game led it to one of its very first gigs following their formation in 2018: a fundraiser for North Myrtle Beach Pickleball Association. The band has been through a lot since then. Members have come and gone, COVID -19 pandemic which brought things to a temporary standstill and a significant expansion of their core repertoire.

He later went back and received a degree in Music Education and Classical Guitar. In the mid 70’s Mike developed a passion for bass guitar. Mike played professionally in a number of bands and an orchestra for a number of years. Now - he is just loving the “Salt Life” groove of a local band. We are thrilled he settled down with us.

Michael Munkascy

Lead / Backing Vocals

Michael and his wife later co-founded the Westerville Center for the Arts in Columbus where they taught dramatics and vocals while writing, directing and producing shows.

Charlie Ward

Lead Guitar / Founding Member

Charlie is a founding member of the band, but came late to his love for the guitar. Prior to college, he had never played a note. Then…he held his roommate’s guitar. The obsession took hold. Being a poor broke college student, his grandmother bought him an Ibanez Les Paul knock-off and he taught himself to play. That was a lifetime and career ago. Now he is living out his dreams and thrilled to be playing live music with a band he calls family.
